Movie Theaters in Vienna
Numerous Movie Theaters can be found in Vienna. The tradition of the so called "Lichtspieltheater" dates back to 1902, when the first cinema opened up in Vienna, by this time still capital of the Habsburg Empire.
In recent years more and more large scale movie complexes (many of them located within shopping malls) opened up - mostly in suburban Vienna - as a modern addition to the traditional movie theaters in the city center.
