Apart from the pubs, bars and clubs mentioned here, Vienna features a lot of special venues and parties regularily hosted in sometimes very unusual places - for quite a few of them you need the right insider knowledge to track them down. Here you can find our favourite regular parties and special venues in Vienna:

Tuesday 4 Club

Typical Heurige in Vienna

The Heurige is a pretty unique institution: It can be best described as a wine tavern, where local wine producers sell their own stuff right off their premises, often right beside the vineyard.
Vienna Heuriger Generally speaking, these places can be found in the outer discticts of Vienna (such as Grinzing, Sievering or Hietzing) and mostly be tracked down by the traditional Busch'n (fir wreath) above the entrance and often feature a pretty rustic interieur, affordable wine and a yummy self-service buffet.

One of the most famous places for Heurige in Vienna is Grinzing, which lies to the North-West and is easily accessible be tram 38 (which leaves at U2 Schottentor and passes U6 Nußdorfer Strasse).

Couldn't exactly find that special place that suits you? Or happened to discover a terrific restaurant you would definitely like to share with other users? You are more than welcome to let us know!
