The Summerstage near U4 Roßauer Lände is a seasonal (May-Sep) entertainment complex at the banks of Donaukanal, comprising several restaurants, a sports area (beach volley, boule, trampoline) and a cultural venue (open art sculpute garden) featuring live concerts.
Another place for real beach-feeling in the city, the Adria Wien (near U1/U4 Schwedenplatz, opposite side of Donaukanal) offers an indoor bar area (great glass construction, thus not dependent on the weather) with Italian-style catering as well.
Sunbathing and swimming on a ship in the city center? Not a problem: The Badeschiff offers all that - even combined with a snack bar (ever tried Steckerlfisch?) as well as cocktails and parties at night (near U1/U4 Schwedenplatz, below Aspernbrücke)!
A little further away from the center at the Neue Donau (the quiet part of the Danube), the Vienna City Beach Club offers snacks, barbecue and even cocktails in a very relaxed atmosphere with chill-out music (walk from U1 Donauinsel or take a bus, see map).
